- Third consecutive week of cost relief.
- Diesel drove the move: EIA week-ending June 15 US retail diesel at $5.059/gal, off 2.9% from $5.210 - a 0.59-point drag that outweighed the first May commodity prints (paper +3.1%, lumber +0.5%, wood +0.1%).
- May PPI landed, wages did not: BLS published May for wood, lumber, and paper/OCC; May warehouse earnings have not posted, so April $25.88 carries forward at 76 days under the methodology Section 13 rule - 15% weight, inside the 30% limit.
- Next 2-3 Tuesdays: diesel-led until the May wage print lands and June PPI posts mid-July.
